Studying English in another country can be quite challenging. Here are some tips and suggestions from experienced English teachers to help you while you are studying:

1. The first and most important tip is to change all the language settings on your computer, mobile phone, Facebook and Instagram to English! Try and use English as much as possible every day (at school, at work and at home!).

2. If you have a smartphone there are many applications you can use to help you study English such as:

sounds“Sounds” app
Study, practice and listen to the different sounds to help with your pronunciation

Practice and learn a language in a fun way with this app

In addition to applications, there are also many websites which can help you to improve your English skills. Two of them are:

1. Lyricstrainer.com
One of our favourite websites to recommend to students. Practice your listening skills while you listen to your favourite English songs!

2. Learningchocolate.com
Good website, especially for Beginner, Elementary and Pre Intermediate level students, to improve and practice essential vocabulary like prepositions and pronouns.

Lastly, a few good books to read if you are Intermediate level or higher are:

· Matilda, Roald Dahl books blog (1)

· The Giver, Lois Lowry

· The fault in our stars, John Green

· Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl

· Paul Jennings, Gizmo

If you need extra help with grammar, try to borrow or buy these books from the library

1. English Grammar in Use Book with Answers, Raymond Murphy

2. The good grammar book, Michael Swan
