Dear Student,

Welcome to Greenwich English College!

We want you all to #StayConnected during this time so you will soon be joining us in our online classrooms using ZOOM.

Don’t worry or panic, it’s easy and can be done on a computer, tablet or even a phone!

Once you are all ready to go, you will receive an email from Greenwich with your online classroom link. This is how you can join your class every day.

OUR TOP 10 GUIDE FOR ONLINE LEARNING

  1. Please remember to have your laptop/tablet or phone charged and plugged into your charger so your battery doesn’t die.
  2. Try to be close to your internet modem so you have fast internet
  3. If you have any problems, please tell your teacher and they will try to help you. You can talk to them or try to send them a message in the chat.
  4. You should have a pen or pencil and a notebook during the class to take notes.
  5. Don’t try to multitask! The class requires all of your attention to be able to understand and learn. (No cooking/exercising/chatting on the phone/working at the same time - focus on your lesson only)
  6. Find a quiet place to sit
  7. Explain to your flatmates how important your study is to you and ask them to help you by being quiet during your lessons.
  8. Arrive in class on time and make sure you participate
  9. Turn your video ON in breakout rooms and when asked by your teacher - unless you have connection problems. English classes are very communicative and it’s helpful to see body language as well!
  10. Join class every day with a positive attitude!

We are excited to meet you and have you join our Greenwich community

See you soon and #StaySafe.

Kind regards,
Greenwich College
