GUIDE FOR ONLINE LEARNING

We know these are difficult times and we all need to be a little flexible about how our new learning environment will work. The following are some basic ways to help you maximise your online learning experience (if some of these are difficult in your current situation, please just explain this to your teacher):

  • Be committed and serious about your online classes

  • Don’t try to multitask! The class requires all of your attention to be able to understand and learn. (No cooking/exercising/chatting on the phone/working at the same time - focus on your lesson only)

  • Find a quiet place to sit

  • Explain to your flatmates how important your study is to you and ask them to help you by being quiet during your lessons.

  • Arrive in class on time and make sure you participate

  • Turn your video ON in breakout rooms and when asked by your teacher - unless you have connection problems. English classes are very communicative and it’s helpful to see body language as well!

  • For technical problems that your teacher can’t help you with, please fill in this form: bit.ly/GEC_OnlineSupport

  • Join class every day with a positive attitude! Everyone is in a difficult situation so let’s get through this together!
