Only 12 months ago, 36 year old Hiro made the most courageous decision of his life to date.
With his wife and son, he took the big step out of Japan, to find a very new and different life here in Australia.
Although he had very little English ability, the determination and drive to realise his dream was big. With 10 years’ experience as a barista in Tokyo, Hiro planned to get a job in an Australian café and in time, ask for sponsorship.
Within 2 weeks of meeting a nervous but ambitious Hiro, he came to the Greenwich team with the exciting news that he already found a job as a barista at a busy local café in Lane Cove called Pablo and Rusty (you may know it)
With step 1 in the bag, the language journey was to begin…
Making full use of the extensive range of courses on offer at Greenwich, Hiro (originally enrolled 48 weeks GE), transferred flexibly through General English, Pronunciation in Context, Cambridge PET, Cambridge FCE and of course IELTS Preparation…
Only 2 weeks ago, a very excited Hiro returned to the campus where it all started for him, and happily announced that he had achieved 6.0 in the official IELTS test and now had all the cards ready to lodge for his sponsorship visa!
CONGRATULATIONS HIRO!
If you have a goal, if you have a dream, follow it through with all your strength.
Dreams do come true and Greenwich College will help you get there!
