Cambridge FCE from a Teacher's Point of View

June 22, 2015 by Mamta Bhatt

I promise that I am not being biased just because I am English but in my humble opinion, the Cambridge exams are the best English exams available at the moment. Teaching FCE allows me to teach my students exactly how English works and how we use the language correctly.

As FCE is a closed course for a 12 week period, it enables me to build a wonderful rapport with my students and learn about their individual needs and how best to help them progress.

I think my favourite part of teaching Cambridge is the fact that you get to unlock the mysterious world of phrasal verbs and idioms; this is a language that only native English speakers understand until now!! My students tell me all the time that they understand everything in the classroom but when they are out mixing with native speakers, they have enormous difficulty making out what they are saying. These same students start the FCE course and suddenly, they start to understand exactly what is being said – I suppose you could say that Cambridge gives them the key to the secret world of the native speaker J

The above is why I think the Cambridge exams are the best in the world; because it gives students the opportunity to REALLY learn English and how it is used in every English speaking country.
